Buying and Selling Autos and Auto Accessories

Yo! My name is Greg and this is my auto blog. A warm welcome to all the readers out there on the worldwide web. I decided to start this blog because the other night when I was lying in bed unable to sleep, I suddenly realised that I am a guy with a lot to give and that now was the time to start giving it. Although I am not a professional auto person, over the years, I have picked up a lot of useful info about how to buy, sell, maintain and modify different types of automobile. I hope you enjoy my blog.

3 Aspects Motorists Must Know Before Calling an Emergency Towing Service Provider

Henry Obrien

One of the worst experiences of driving at night is getting a flat tire or your car developing a mechanical problem in the middle of nowhere. Usually, when such an emergency occurs, you want to get out of the situation as fast as possible. Fortunately, emergency towing providers help motorists to get out of such circumstances. Therefore, before slumping in a prolonged panic mode, you should consider calling a 24-hour emergency towing company when your car breaks down. Here are some useful tips to bear in mind before calling a towing service provider.

Distance to Emergency Site -- Some towing service providers will charge a fixed cost for a given radius concerning distance. For instance, if you call for an emergency towing outside the city or town limits, the company will charge you per kilometer/mile past the city/town boundary. Therefore, the far you are from a towing service, the more you will pay for the service rendered. Conduct some research to assess the fees that each company charges before settling on one. Usually, the cheapest base charges do not translate into savings since you might be charged extra for every kilometer or mile of transit. For this reason, it is preferable to hire a service provider in your locality as opposed to an out-of-town company.

Estimate Recovery Costs -- When your car stalls suddenly or you get a flat tire, it is possible that you will incur standard towing fees. However, for special cases such as an accident or a car being stuck in the mud, the towing will attract additional charges. The extra costs are necessary because specialized equipment such as a winch might be required to remove the vehicle from that position onto a towing truck. Therefore, before an emergency towing company arrives on site, it is recommended that you inquire about all the costs based on the nature of your emergency. You do not want to incur unexpected charges because you failed to ask the right questions before your vehicle being towed.

Time -- The base rate that most towing companies charge is only applicable during specific periods of the day, usually during the working hours of between 8 am to 5 pm. Notably, expect prices to go slightly higher when you make that night call or on weekends and holidays. There might be very few towing services available during these odd times, and thus, your towing firm can charge a premium for services rendered due to increased demand. When calling for emergency towing, ask the service provider about the cost you will incur at that particular time.
